Interested in studying in the U.S. for your masters degree? Below you’ll find a list of scholarships and fellowships that can provide monetary assistance to international students who wish to pursue studies at a masters program in the United States:
Fulbright Foreign Student Program - The Fulbright Foreign Student Program allows international students to study and conduct research in the U.S. at the graduate level. Students from more than 160 different countries are eligible to apply, and approximately 4,000 scholarships are awarded each year. AAUW Fellowship Program - The AAUW Fellowship Program is exclusively for individuals who have citizenship outside of the United States and identify as women. Masters and professional degree/doctoral applicants must apply to an accredited institution by the AAUW application deadline. Awards range from $20,000–$50,000 per year. ACI Foundation Fellowship - The ACI Foundation offers fellowships that international students are eligible to apply for as long as they attend an accredited institution in North America during the awards cycle. All applicants must be proficient in English, and those who do not speak English as a first language can upload their TOEFL score to their application. All applicants must submit a resume, an essay, official transcripts and recommendations. You can visit their page and learn more here.
Rotary Peace Fellowship - The Rotary Peace Fellowship is for students who wish to pursue a masters degree within one of Rotary’s Peace Centers (ex. Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, etc.). Candidates are encouraged to apply if they have work experience in peace and development and prior achievements in peace building. Candidates must be proficient in English and have at least a three year gap between their undergraduate studies and the program they wish to apply for. You can visit their page and learn more here.

Stanford University, Knight Hennesy Scholars - The Knight Hennesy Scholars program is exclusively for students who intend to pursue graduate studies at Stanford. International students are eligible to apply. Eligibility requirements include acceptance into a graduate program at Stanford and proof of a bachelor’s degree within a designated time frame as displayed on the program’s website. University of Memphis, Graduate International Merit Scholarship - The University of Memphis offers merit-based scholarships for graduate international students which vary and cover the difference in cost of international and domestic non-Tennessee resident tuition. NYU, Podell Global Graduate Legal Scholarship - NYU’s Podell Global Graduate Legal Scholarship is a single scholarship awarded to an international student who demonstrates financial need, has a record of “superior academic merit” and is from one of the countries listed on the site. This scholarship is only for students who will enroll in NYU’s Master of Laws program. You can find more information here.
University of New Haven, Dean's Scholarship Program - The University of New Haven’s Dean's Scholarship Program is open to full-time international master’s students. Awardees are selected based on merit, as displayed in their University application. The program provides up to 50% tuition assistance during a student’s enrollment at the University of New Haven.
